After decades of planning, it seems that the Magnolia Development will finally begin after developers have obtained the green light from the Federal Government. This project will take place on the Neck, a lesser-known area of Charleston slightly north of the Peninsula due to its lack of development. The site is waterfront and is currently housing old industrial infrastructure. Developers have already built a bridge to this peninsula, nicknamed the "Bridge to Nowhere", and more developments will come soon. The current site has an area of190 acres and developers plan to build residential units, retail areas, and offices primarily though hotels are up for debate at the moment. The project is still in its infancy, though we will be the first to update you with any major developments in the future.
